Poor service

I needed information about vehicle registration that is not on the website. Through the website, I was repeatedly rerouted to the chat bot (which repeatedly told me it could not connect me to a person) instead of their email.

So I could not access the contact email OR a person on their chat. I sat on their phone line for over an hour only for the line to abruptly disconnect.

The local tax collector phone line was also "experiencing higher than normal call volume" and I had my questions answered within 15 minutes. Don't contact this broad state line, you'll get much farther much faster with a local branch, even better in person.

Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles - I was asked to pay twice

My registration was to renewed on 08/23, i paid in advance 06/23. That car is on the name of my husband.

I did this transaction online. I was supposed to get it in my mail as explained on site. I didnt recived it so i called them they answered that may be you have to visit the tax office. My drivers license renewal was in February so i asked to give me sticker for car.

The person gave me the form to be filled up by my husband as power of attorney. My husband lives in Delaware i send him the document and he sent me my mail it took almost 3 weeks to do that. Today when i went to tax office in university square and when my turn came the person asked me to pay again for registration.

And said it's more than 6 months but i paid them 2 months before i was not supposed to charge for late fee.. Instead, give me interest for that.

Just about pointless to leave a review

I have been calling every day for the past week trying to get some information or at least an appointment with the bureau of administrative review. The telephone system doesn't let anyone even be on hold or leave a message. It's ridiculous. It just a recording that tells me they're busy with a customer and to call back. Thats it. I cant get a live person. Im totally screwed because I have to be in court tomorrow and needed to have this done.

AIve called about 20 times today with no luck. I have an emergency situation and was told to call (by the dmv). The department is either severely understaffed or theres no one working at all.i would give a zero rating if I could.

I totally recommend Diana she was amazing and patient and made sure i was able to get my license back and reinstated. Amazing customer service 10/10 i would recommend i never been to a DMV all these years with a clerk like that i always have bad experience in DMV. This is for the lee vista area.

Handicap placard

I am a 100% disabled Vietnam veteran. When I moved to Florida several years ago I was issued a disabled veterans plate for my vehicle.

Just recently I applied for a handicap plaque to use when I travel in different vehicles. At the tax collectors office I was told in order to get a plaque I had to have a doctor complete a section of the application. I said this policy doesn't make sense as I already have a disabled plate and I produced an official letter from the veterans administration stating I am 100% disabled.

If one has a disabled plate why then do they have to go through the hassle of having a doctor prove thier disabled. Not a good way to treat veterans.

The motor vehicle center orders the plate based on your documents. They scanned it in and kept original till order fulfilled.

Same deal at the tax collector’s office for the placard. (They probably would accept a copy of that original letter.).

No need to throw veteran into anything. The qualifier is a disability and they have policies to follow.

Unprofessional and lack of knowledge

I've been dealing with an issue with any and everyone from this business except for 2 people since July 2023 and local DMVS not being able to see a course I've taken. On their actual website, you can input my information and see the course was taken, however, no one but be and the two ladies I spoke to have an once of care and are extremely rude and when you ask for any further information on how to do something, they repeat themselves and say "it's not in their system". Florida loves to slap you with a load of stuff and then when cleaning up everybody acts brainless. Such a shame.

I was falsely arrested, I lost Everything after being incarcerated for THREE MONTHS. LOST my home, everything from my life inside, and 2 vehicles that were both paid for in Full. Now I have to pay 200.00 to fix my license!! When I had No control of!!! Its. NOT RIGHT !!! These were Fraudulent charges, that Ive lost my life over!!! Ive always taken care of my insurance on vehicles Ive owned. This is just SO WONG !!!

Nobody ever answers the phone for the Clearwater office for a hardship license

I spent over 6 hours attempting to contact them due to my license not arriving in the mail after paying for a renewal. I was placed on hold each time I actually was able to be sent to the next available representative; however, each time I was on hold for over an hour just for them to hang up on me.

I never got to speak to anyone. They left me on hold until they closed at 5pm. If there were any other methods I could take to resolve my issue I would, but nothing is working. I tried using my account on FLHSMV but I was redirected to call customer service.

I tried utilizing their chat bot but it also didnt include information on the issue I had at hand.

I absolutely hate this company since this occurs every time I try to do business with them. If I could rate them -5,000/5 I would in a heartbeat.

D6 clearance

The number thats listed is just an automated number. Nobody ever answers it and it doesnt give you an option to speak to someone. The other number thats listed you call it no matter what time of day it is it tells you that all of the representatives are busy please try to call again later and nobody ever answers the phone ever.

The customer service via phone is just useless. No one is ever available. For something so simple as to get some help regarding a notice I got. I now have to drive to a location to get the problem solved. In a world where everything is handled now online and effortlessly, this system of Florida Highway is just useless.
